Random House Dictionary
Hope is an essential part of life. Without it, people turn to suicide. It's good
to reaffirm in our minds and hearts what hope is.
"Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope."
~ 1 Timothy 1:1 ~
In 1 Timothy, Paul states that Christ is our hope. Why is He our hope?
"Neither is there salvation in any other:
for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved."
~ Acts 4:12 ~
Without Christ, we have no hope. He is our everything.
"We might have a strong consolation, who
have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have
as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast." ~ Hebrews 6:18-19 ~
Hope is "an anchor of the soul." Christ is described here as "both
sure and steadfast." Let us not place our confidence in man or things. Let Christ
be our hope.
"Rejoicing in hope." ~ Romans 12:12
~
How do you get hope?
"Whatsoever things were written aforetime
were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures
might have HOPE." ~ Romans 15:4 ~
"Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing
by the word of God." ~ Romans 10:17 ~
Read God's Word. Claim it for your own.
"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts:
and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the
hope that is in you with meekness and fear." ~ 1 Peter 3:15 ~
"With meekness and fear",
