How To Get God's Help
By Judith Bronte
hus saith the LORD, Stand ye
in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk
therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls." ~ Jeremiah 6:16 ~
Everyone needs help from God, and He is willing to give it.
"God is in the midst of her; she shall
not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early." ~ Psalm 46:5 ~
The surest way to get God's help is to claim the promises that He has so amply given
in His Word. They are there to give us comfort and to give us hope. Imagine heaven
as a ship, and from it hangs thousands of ropes, which are promises. All we have
to do is grab on. The sea is like life. We are battered about this way and that,
but God's promises are there to anchor us, to give us peace. When our time on earth
is over, God will pull us in.
"Whereby are given unto us exceeding great
and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." ~ 2 Peter
1:4 ~
To get help, we must ask, (grab on).
To endure, we must believe, (hold on).
To escape this world (the sea), we must get help.
"Be not afraid, only believe." ~
Mark 5:36 ~
"Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him
that believeth." ~ Mark 9:23 ~
Christ has thrown out the lifelines, and by His mercy, grace, and those " exceeding
great and precious promises", we will always have help, if we accept it.
