"If we can keep Charlotte's name out of the papers, then no one ever need know of this-- this-- little fiasco. After all, she didn't know what she was doing. It was that Hayes boy. It's his fault! He's the one responsible! Driving around in a stolen car! Imagine!" Angela shouted. Mark shook his head in disbelief. "There's no need to drag our name into this mess, because it's not Charlotte's fault. If it were, the police would have pressed charges. All we need to do is keep quiet and pretend this evening never happened. I for one, intend to do just that." Mark nodded in agreement. There was no need to tell anyone what happened. Reggie was at a sleep-over at a friend's house; Sherri wasn't home yet; and Grandmother Janice was so hard of hearing the she had slept through the excitement. Only Angela and Mark knew... and, of course, Charlotte.

Mark and Angela - "Which show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another."
~ Romans 2:15 ~

Darren - "The great God that formed all things both rewardeth the fool, and rewardeth transgressors. As a dog returneth to his vomit, so a fool returneth to his folly."
~ Proverbs 26:10, 11 ~

Charlotte - "Deliver my... darling from the power of the dog."
~ Psalms 22:20 ~

"As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion."
~ Proverbs 11:22 ~
